Dr. Jamie Whittenburg

Dr. Jamie Whittenburg is originally from Lubbock, TX. She attended undergraduate school at Texas Tech University and then spent years working as a veterinary technician in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area in both small animal and equine clinics before attending veterinary school. She graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Dr. Whittenburg then went on to pursue post-graduate training at Texas A&M University.

Following a move back to the Metroplex, she worked as an associate veterinarian in Fort Worth before the Hub City called her home. In Lubbock, Dr. Whittenburg continued her work as an associate veterinarian and in academia. The most exciting day in her career occurred on May 1st, 2013 when she opened her own hospital, Kingsgate Animal Hospital, right here in her hometown of Lubbock, TX. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Whittenburg’s world revolves around her adorable daughter. She also enjoys reading, outdoor activities, spending time with friends and is a small group leader in her church’s Kids’ Ministry.


Larian Garrett

Larian Garrett grew up in Lubbock, Texas. She is a graduate of Monterey High School and has been an avid animal lover her entire life. She has 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 horses. Larian is an active member of the ABC Pro-Rodeo Flag Team which carries the sponsorship flags at the ABC Rodeo each year and in parades around Lubbock. Her favorite hobbies include reading, going to the movies and spending time with friends and family.

Daniel Simpson

Daniel is a native of Lubbock. He graduated from Liberty Learning Center in 2012 and then began pursuing his love of animals as a veterinary technician. He has a guinea pig named Regina, a pit bull rescue named Rosie, two dachshunds named Daisy and Darwin, and a Yorkie mix named Ellie. In his free time Daniel enjoys attending church with friends and watching movies.

Shelby Austin

Shelby grew up in Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock-Cooper High School. She received her B.S. in Animal Science in May 2018 from Texas Tech University and is now pursuing a second degree in Nursing. Shelby has one dog named Fly and enjoys helping her mother raise goats and chickens. When Shelby isn’t working at KAH, she likes spending time with friends and antiquing.
